Heath and Michelle to Marry?

According to this article it looks as though Heath and Michelle are to marry. I wonder if Jake will be the best man and if so looking forward to the pictures!


Actor Heath Ledger was spotted applying for a marriage licence in New York with his fiancee Michelle Williams, his co-star in the gay drama Brokeback Mountain. They already have a daughter, Matilda Rose, who was born on October 28, 2005. Her Godfather is Jake Gyllenhaal and her Godmother Busy Philipps, Michelle's co-star in Dawson's Creek. The couple met on the set of Brokeback Mountain, where they played husband and wife.

According to New York state marriage laws, a wedding licence must be obtained by the bride and groom in person at their local City Clerk of New York office at least 24 hours before the ceremony is due to take place. The licence is then valid for 60 days.

"I'm so proud," said Heath after the arrival of Matilda last October. "I just fall deeper and deeper in love with both my girls." His Brokeback Mountain co-star Jake Gyllenhaal, who is godfather to their daughter, joked about his on-screen romance with Heath, saying "We made out, and they had a baby!".

Ledger, 27, and Williams, 26, will star together again in the Bob Dylan film I’m Not There. Heath, 27, and Michelle, 26, confirmed their engagement in August 2005. As of 2006, they reside in Brooklyn, New York. Ledger sold his Australian residence in Bronte, New South Wales for A$7 million.

Aw i know he had trouble with the paparazzi here in Australia but really, i dont see the apeal of a tight squishy corner flat compared to maybe 50 acres of land in australia... Maybe im bais, and maybe it was because of there careers but Australia would b a great place for matilda to grow up... But whatever, there choice hey and as long as they r happy. And yeh i hope they do get married!

I think they are adorable. I too was thinking about Jake being best man...I'd imagine pictures will be tough to come by as Heath and Michelle are extremely private. But man wouldn't that be nice..mmmm.
